Yarn Retreat Mystery
|
So, here we are at book 10 in the Yarn Retreat series and my 30th published book. And I am already thinking ahead to book 11.
I always start with what is going to happen to all the main players and to figure out their arc. After what happened in KNOT DEAD AGAIN,
there are lots of possibilities. Next, I come up with what else is going on at Vista Del Mar while Casey puts on her retreat.
Since they are murder mysteries, I have to figure out who is going to die and why, and of course, how.
Because the books are about yarn retreats and include a pattern, I have to figure out that part. I try to make whatever they make
part of the story. I also want to keep it simple so that anybody with basic skills can make it. When it comes to the recipes, they
are related to Casey's dessert and muffin baking. Doing the taste testing is the only time my family pays attention to what I'm doing.
The rest of the time, all they know is that I spend a lot of time scribbling on legal pads and sitting at my computer. I'm not sure
what my 7-year-old grandson thinks I'm writing about. Not that he really seems to care when he stands behind me and tells me that
he's hungry.
